Patience at the Apothecary.

On a very hot and sunny morning in July of 2000, I rounded the corner onto the Duke of Gloucester street,
where I stumbled upon an old lady sitting in front of the apothecary store engrossed in her embroidery.
The white of her apron looked luminescent and she was bathed in sunlight, whilst surrounded by deep
shadows, cast by the old trees that line this historic street.

In an instant I knew that this would be my first in a series of Williamsburg renderings.
